I'm remodeling my first untroubled b in and I really like the look of the satin nickel switch plates and outlet plates. Will these look odd with the current brass door knobs and door hinges? Would satin nickel arms on the doors make it look better? I found some good prices online for satin nickel door mat so replacing the door hardware isn't completely out of the question. I like the look of brass arms on the doors so I'm a little conflicted.

This is actually a small 1100 sq. ft. condo and only has 11 doors so switching to all of one or the other won't hook kill my budget.

No the gall and brushed nickle wouldn't look good. Make it all one or the other. When I sold my house and had new carpet layed, the decorators told me that even the piping between the carpeted and tiled areas should always match your door hardware.

How do you fix electric outlet plates from not getting flush against the wall even after tighening the screw?

If the trencher is not flush, the outlet may be mounted too far foreward and needs to be moved back. If you do not know how to do this, I suggest calling an electrician.

Do the foam pieces of insulation you can add behind wall plates work?

The pieces you can buy to position behind the outlet and switch plates in your home, do they really provide any addtional insulation, enough to offset the cost of them?

Yes they business very well. The cut out the draft. They are worth the money when used on outside walls.
