Any way to load test a car battery without an actual load tester?

Businesswoman told me my battery failed the load test. Its an 03 Audi A4 1.8T, but it seems to start fine, it struggled a sparse during the frigid winter last winter but always started. How do I know if the dealer is just trying to pull a abstinence one passed me?

Chances are the distributor is telling you the truth and the battery will end up leaving you somewhere you don't want to be. To do a quick easy load test, hook up a volt meter to the battery examine the voltage should be around 12.7V if it's around 13 or so due to the car recently running turn on the headlights for about 5 seconds and that should take care of the "integument charge" you should be closer to 12.7V now. Okay, now turn on your high beams this is your "load" observe the voltage if it's below "9.6V" your battery is impotent below spec, replace it. Or, you can bring your car to autozone or advance auto parts and they will do the more accurate test for subject to. Good Luck!

Can 2 6v golf cart batteries be accurately tested with a 12v digital load tester?

If there is a digital 6v battery capability tester, what is the make/model? I can't find one. Is there a way to jerry rig a 12v tester to test 2 6v batteries accurately?

Try this. trap the two 6v batts in series to make 12v and test. If good, alrighty then. If BAD, swap in a known GOOD 6v (if you have one) and check-up again. If good, you found the bad batt. If bad, swap the other two and test again. If bad, spend some $ and get new batts.

(I surmise you mean a mechanical load tester?)

You should be familiar with the tester, it's controls, and proper operating procedures and subvention.

You should inspect the machine before use for any visible signs of damage.

You should ensure that all safety guards and devices are in their individual positions.

You should make sure that the settings of the tester are at appropriate values before turning on the equipment

You should appoint sure that the load under test is properly shielded so that flying fragments or sudden load breakage cannot cause abuse or damage.

You should be wearing all safety equipment recommended by the manufacturer.

While performing the tests, you should be watching and listening for any peculiar operation, and be prepared to abort the test quickly in case of malfunction.
