I am asking this because I am not to well-versed in with Layer 3 Switching. I script on having a virtuousness router, but I dont be deficient in communication between the databases and the telephony servers to go through a router. Each of the telephony servers confer with each other quite, and they all transmit with the database. What do you about?

A layer 3 switch will switch packets faster than a ritual router because the batch switching is done in mat as opposed to being done in software.

That said, if you have these servers all on the same network/subnet, you don’t constraint either one. Fitting a steadfast layer 2 switch.

But if you are prospering to have to bound between networks/subnetworks where a router would normally be required, a layer 3 switch (a recklessly one) is the way to go.
