My blinkers and flashers exertion sometimes, however, 90% of the time they don't . I keep reading about this being caused by the turn signal switch being bad or something.

Basically the steering column under the steering wheel. Assuming there are no problems with the wiring, it could also be a defective flasher. That is by behind the glove compartment, but not always.
