I have two computers and two printers. The computers are connected via a KVM switch. How can I set up the printers to use either with either computer?
ps. They are both USB printers.

Why use 2 printers? Lawful install one, And use it for both pc's, Unless you need both of course... YIM if you need instructions to Share printer

If the computers are networked together, you can allot the printers over the network. If they are not networked together, or you don't want to network them, there are printer switches for parallel port printers, but the greater option would be to network them.

Create a workgroup for the two computers.
Share the printers.

Why does my HP wireless printer switch ports occasionally?

I have a HP 6800 series wireless printer. It will then switch ports. When this happens nothing will print until I go in and change the ip address for the virtual port in the printer settings area. Does anyone cognizant of why this happens and how I can prevent it. It happens probably three times a month or so.

Sounds like the IP lecture is changing on you. Put a static outside the range allocated for computers on the router. If computers have 1.100 thru 1.150, then you can set the printer to 1.151. Once there and set up in the computers, it should remain.

when i switch off my epson c42 printer the cartridge carrier does not return to centre position.?

To variation a cartridge i need to be able to get at it, however when i switch off the printer the "cartridge carrier" moves to the far end of "Handrail" under the cover.
If i leave the printer on it still stops at the end, not used printer for 4 years hence cartridge needs changing.
Done windows evaluate and printout says correctly installed.

You shouldn't need to switch it off to change the cartridge. It's in the done place switched on too (it doesn't know you're trying to change the cartridge).

In Printing Preferences go to the Care tab and tell it you wish to change the ink cartridge from there. It will move into the correct place and give you instructions!

A word of warning though - Epson inkjets are well known for drying up if you don't use them much. If this has been out of undertaking for 4 years, I wouldn't hold much hope for a good print out! Once you've changed the cartridge, try cleaning the language heads (probably multiple times) to see what the best printout you can get is. Good luck!
