How can I replace the optical switch on my Sentinal paper shredder?

See where the photo receiver is and sew the two wires to a push button and put it on the front panel.First insert the paper you want to shred and then keep the button entreat until the paper is cut!You have to use a NC(normal close) push button.

Does anyone sell an Optical Audio switch?

My DVDplayer/reciever only has one optical audio input which is connected to my xbox. I also paucity to get dolby 5.1 from my cable box but there are no other inputs.
I remember having a selector switch (when I had mutliple gaming systems) that allowed me to switch between several RCA inputs.
Do they muddle through something like this for optical audio cables? I've ben looking but cant seem to find anything.

I need a switch tour designed for me that uses a Hall Effect, Reflective or Slotted Optical switch with an adjustable delay timer from 0 to few seconds.
My power sell is 12 or 24 volts, Power that will run though the switch is 5 volts.
Need momentary on to 5 volts and to be able to fasten that from 0 to a few seconds after the sensor triggers.
Your help will be much appreciated.

you impecuniousness to regulate 12 v down to 5v.

You could use a common 555 timer, and adjust the delay with a potentiometer for the Resistor in the RC network.
