How To Replace An Oil Pressure Sensor

We use a 1997 Toyota Camry to show you how peaceful it is to change the oil pressure sensor.

How much does it cost to replace an oil pressure switch on a 2003 Buick Century?

Had an oil come out so I took it to the mechanic and he said it was the oil pressure switch and he would do it for about $75-$100 for parts and labor. I looked up the part at Autozone and it is only $10. Should I do it myself? Is he overcharging me? I wholly it is easy to do.

The switch is on the front of the motor fairness above the starter. The book only calls for a half an hour of labor, and GM lists the part at only $20 (cheap!). So say even if he was buying licensed GM parts and charging $100/hr for labor, you're still only at $70. I'd personally get on my back and grab that trend with a pair of pliers and turn it out of there. Just make sure to wrap the threads on the new one with some teflon ribbon or some pipe dope, otherwise the leak might even be worse.

it is loyal easy, find out in your repair manuel where it is located. remove it , and in the reverse order put the new one in. start your car, check for leaks and see if you have oil pressure. elementary and takes less than an hour. good luck.

i do my own line its so much cheaper should be easy depending on location of switch

How do I change out an oil pressure switch on a 1994 Mercury Tracer?

I very recently recieved this car as a gift. It has 90K miles. 1.9 Liter engine. I noticed an oil leak when I was getting new tires placed on it and the mechanic helped me pin concerning the trouble spot (oil pressure switch). How do I replace this and what size socket should I use?

Most commonly the switch honest screws out and a new one can just screw back in. I'm not sure if this one is any different than any other's we have done here. Usually only takes about a 1/2 hour to do it. I would consult a chilton's master at your local library, or auto parts store.

Where is the oil pressure switch on a 1993 Ford Taurus?

I have a 1993 Ford Taurus 3.8L. I desideratum to replace the oil pressure switch but can't find it.

Can someone please tell me where it is. If you have a picture that would be even better. Thanks.

oil pressure switch is lawful above the oil filter on the 3.8l engine, its not easy to get at but it can be done, the 3.8l has an external oil pump and the switch is on the body of the pump, can be commotion behind the p/s pump and above the a/c pump
