I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima that sometimes wont start unless shifted into neutral and slammed into garden. I had a friend check it and they said I need to replace the neutral safety switch. I now have the part but dont know where to find it on the car. Please help. I read the chiltons guide and it has a picture but cant tell if it is inside the shifter or on top or motor or underneath.

Predominantly where the shifter is, you would need to remove the rubber boot around it. That is if the shifter is located between the two front seats next to your right leg.

Where is the neutral safety switch on a 1999 Mazda Protege?

I'm almost at the end of my the score. I have a 1999 Mazda Protege LX (standard) and I am banging my head looking for the neutral safety switch. My Chilton book is missing in skirmish and the copy at the local library has been checked out. I'm not going to dish out another 15 dollars for a reserve that I already own. Please, someone help me before I pull out my hair and send my car to the auto salvage yard.

Got a Jeep Cherokee 96 paragon 4x4, 6 cylinder, 4.0 liters. The neutral safety switch just went out but I can still start the car in neutral. How much longer can I keep doing this before my car exactly won't crank up anymore?

How extensive is a piece of string? This is a question that can have no exact answer could be for years and years or you may walkout to take a drive and it won't start tonight or tomorrow. Now you may upstanding have a little adjustment to make.
