Can membrane keyboard switches respond to human touch?

I needfulness to know if those thin, membrane switches used for keyboards will respond to a funger's touch. I also need to know if i can DIY my own thin wires, again like on keyboards' membrane panels. I requisite a minimally evasive touch solution, and I think that using the same tech from the keyboard panels would be both minimally dissembling, and give a bit of flair to my display. Also, if the switches do respond to fingers, can I buy them at relatively low cost.

Membrane switches calling due to mechanical action caused by a conductor that is pushed across a break in a foil pattern to complete the bound.

Touch switches work due to capacitance that comes from static charges when our body touches the switch.

I don't be versed how hard it will be.

Go to www.repairclinic.com. They will get you through it and almost certainly have whatever part(s) you shortage. I fixed a GE convection range for $135 that the Sears guy said would be $600 just for a part, not to mention labor.

They also helped me fix a file hood, even though they didn't end up selling me the part I needed(fuse).
