Why is 2003 Ford Explorer brake light switch wiring is different on the replacement part?

The replacement hold up light switch has 2 wires, both are green/ red. But on the harness it connects to, the 2 wires are green/red and brown black. How do I know which wire to stick to each other because they dont match?

For this job It doesnt content which color wires you connect to. All you will be doing is connecting in on the existing circuit. The new switch wiring is probably an updated variety.

For a 1994 ford taurus gl? I necessity to find a picture so I can check it for wear or breakage. see my last question posted and you'll get the whole story!
it's my only character of transportation...I need to find a diagram on-line;)
I have to say that neither answer was helpful...I never found a site that had a diagram and I ended up just now taking it apart on my own. Yes folks, that's right, I figured it out alone!!!LOL

There are several places you can go to find a wiring diagram of the brake wiring. You can go to a parts house and by a book. You can go to the library and possibly find one. You can also go to your local Ford dealership ritual department. Any one of these will have a diagram that will give you some insight with your problem.

Need wiring diagram for 3-way switch - power to switch and lead to light from switch?

I was doing some remodeling and starting pulling wires out without looking at how it was initially wired. I have a 3-way setup - the main switch has 4 wires to it - it has the power coming in(2-wire), power going out(2-wire), moving to the light (2-wire), and a lead to the other 3 way switch (3-wire). I can't find a diagram anywhere with this scenario.

I would sine qua non your e-mail address so as to send you a diagram of your situation, or try to follow this:
Tie blacks from power in and power out together and also to the glowering screw on the switch, next tie power in and power out
whites together and also white to light and fold away.
Now put the red and white from 3 wire on the two nerve colored screws on switch.
Tie the black to light with the black from 3 wire and fold away.
On the switch with only the 3 wire, put the red and the white on the impudence colored screws and the black on the dark colored screw.
That should do the job.
