Will a bad flow switch on a salt generator for a pool cause the pump to keep shutting off?

Parade shows no flow or check flow switch. Back washed DE filter and cleaned. Started working periodically and now light is back on with foretoken display. Pool pump shuts off. I thought that the switch was to shut off the salt generator if there was no flow, not the pump. Flow seems to be ok and urge gauge reading normal flow. Trying to determine if I need to just replace flow switch or have something else going on.

You were fix, in that, the flow switch is designed to shut off the chlorine production in the absence of adequate water flow to avoid a buildup of chlorine gas in the cubicle. However, if there is a problem that's causing the pump to shut off it would then set off the warning light on the system, but not the other way around. I would first confirm that your pump is operating duly, then make sure you have done the required yearly D&S(disassemble and service) on the filter. Pressure gauges oft-times stick and give a false reading of the pressure. The grids on a DE filter need to be cleaned out every year or it could change the flow in the system enough to cause a 'No Flow'. Then check to make sure all valves are set properly to direct the flow of pee through the cell/switch(sometimes water can bypass the switch if plumbed that way.) If all else is ruled out, remove the flow switch and inspect it for calcium build up or debris clogs that may have passed through the dribble.

Hope you find this helpful. Good luck.

I have a Potterton boiler, heating works fine,no hot water.Hot water flow switch light on,what is this?

The boiler recently had a diaphragm switch replaced and I wanted to check d cash in one's checks if this is the same as the hot water flow switch. Its onw problem after another!! How much would a new boiler be..approx?

the boiler is knackered, a new one will bring in 376 quid

Where can I find a pressure/flow switch to put in a 15mm shower pump output line turn on an extractor fan?

The switch can either manage the fan timer directly (240v ac) or via a 12v dc supply.

Try this online locale http://www.usabluebook.com/ which sells to water system suppliers. The switch is typically used to turn on an alarm when anyone uses the exigency eyewash to get splashed chemicals from their eyes.
