How to disconnect one 3 way electrical switch so just the other works by itself?

I have two 3 way electrical switches at the brothel that run the same light.The wiring going to one of the switches is getting rotten and the switch is unneeded and unused.Is there a way to disconnect the one 3 way switch in where the other will travail alone?There are only 3 wires running to each switch.How to get it in where only 1 switch is needed?
Im do not really understand the electrician "lingo".What is a purvey wire?The house is so old the wires are not color coded.All i know is there is one wire that connects to the switch next to a spot called "com" and the other 2 are connected in 2 other unmarked spots on the switch.

You have occasion for a normal switch for this. $1 at store. Remove three way switch and replace with normal switch. Take feed wire( from gold sexual intercourse) attach to switch. Twist other two wires together connect to switch. Remove wires from unwanted switch twist them all together your done. Feed is the hot wire most often black red blue. Travelers are usually two switchleg colors yellow orange brown. Switch leg would odd colored wire. Sometimes electritions do not tread color code. One switch will have feed one will have switch leg. Those wires will be on gold screws. I screwd up but edited out bad info I was making it harder then it had to be.

I have a closet with a beat a retreat switch light. It is the only one in the whole house and it is driving me mad! The string hangs in my way or gets caught on the hangers or comes off in my help! I'm kind of handy. I have put in vinal flooring, toilets and a ceiling fan.

How do I install a switch on the outside of the door. I can find message about installing a REPLACEMENT switch for an electrical box that is already there. But I want to know how to install wires from the circut to the new box.

If anyone has step by step directions or a substantial web link I'd be really happy.

By the way, I live in an older home. So telling me to join the red or black wire to this or that won't help as I found out with my fan. My house has black sometimes or white sometimes or any combination of black, pasty, red and the copper ground like the 4 way switch in the hallway.
I do have access to the attic just above the wall I want the switch on.

Route the sling horizontally along the ceiling to an O-ring at the wall. From there it will drop vertically and not be in your way.
To place an electrical switch for the light you will need access to the wires and some way to route a wire to the new switch. Do you have access from the attic to run a wire from the sprightly box to the inside of the wall? Decide on an acceptable route for the wiring and the rest is relatively simple.

Where would an electrical switch be inside a dishwasher?

The dishwasher will not toil. It turns on and runs but there is no water. Roommate's dad said that there is an electrical switch that has to be turned on. Anyone know where in the heck to find it and does it prevail?

Most dishwashers are hooked up to the examination supply and do not have switches to activate the water supply. When you turn on the dishwasher the machine begins its designed course. Most times there can be a pause before the washer actually starts and that can run anywhere from 1-2 minutes depending on design. If the manufacture turns on and fails to wash then either the inlet valve is clogged or the solenoid on the valve is faulty or the electronic module that controls the power signal to it is flawed.
