How do you replace brake light switch on a 1997 lumina?

The excessive mounted stop light works, the tail lights work and the turn signals work so it's not a bulb or flow problem. Some other sites indicated this requires a turn signal switch replacement. Something costly to do. I'm hoping it's something like a brake switch get hold of problem. Any ideas out there?

if the acute mount is working but not the others try jiggling the 4 way button done it a millon times to cust cars

Yes it is a put signal switch problem. If you bypass the switch you will lose the flashers or turn signals... Auto Zone can split you the tools to do the job saving you alittle money good luck.

the switch should be located in the brake pedal arm, it will have a free wire going to it, once you find it use the appropriate wrench to loosen it, witht he new switch move the mounting nuts to the closest full stop toward the push button, once it is installed, move the adjusting nut untill the switch contacts the brake pedal arm, then rotate it in untill it is pushed in with about 1/4" of discontinue pedal movement, but insure that it is not completly pushed in so if the brakes are pushed to the floor it does not impairment the switch

it is most reasonable the turn signal switch - there is a GM tech bulletin addressing that problem

under the driver side under the steering wheel unscrew the panel ape the brake pedal up small switch pull clip slid off disconnect wires repeat to replace

Where EXACTLY is the brake light switch located on a 1998 Ford Eddie Bauer Explorer. Are there any photographs

Both brake lights on my 1998 Ford Explorer are not working. I 'm idea it is the brake light switch since the fuses and the bulbs are alright. I need to know where EXACTLY is the brake switch located. Help please!!!

Ok both brake lights aren't working... but what about the third brake light?

I'm really trying to diagnose it for you instead if you know the third brake light works.

As if the third brake light works, usually it's the turn signal switch either having the wires add up to out the back or an internal switch fault.

IF all three are out, it's probably the switch and is the only switch located on the brake pedal.. as soon as you put your hand on the pedal, go up farm your hand hits the switch is the easiest thing I can say

Where is the brake light switch located on a 1999 Nissan Altima?

My tag end 3 brake lights are simulatneously out its not fuses or bulbs more like an electrical issue. I heard it might be my brake light switch but I dont cognizant of where exactly it is.

look on top of your brake pedal way up by the windshield from underneath the race and you will probably see 2 switches, 1 is for brake lights and the other is the neutral safety switch.
