Is there a 2-port KVM switch that would allow me to connect both a DVI & VGA compatible computer to 1 monitor

I rightful purchased a new computer with a 22 inch monitor. I would like to use my new monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers with both my new and my old computer.

The intractable is that my old computer only allows me to use a VGA cable to connect to the monitor, while my new computer allows both VGA & DVI. The monitor also accepts both connections.

I think I would prerequisite a KVM switch which would take the DVI feed signal from my new computer, and then once I switch to the old computer, take the VGA feed from that one.

Is there any product out there like this?

Is there any other way to do this (without buying a $300+ VGA to DVI adapter for my old computer)?

So proselytize your vga to dvi (better video standard), and then use an all DVI solution to the monitor.

I bought one of these switch's months ago and put it on my computers but never got around to using it and i forgot how to switch back and forth between the computers! Please assistants!

On your KVM is a negligible switch-just click on that.The hot keys work only with PS2 hock ups-mouse and keybord with cable.
Press scroll key twice to countersign Hot Key.
Scroll + scroll+F1 is computer 1
Scroll + Scroll+F2 is computer 2
This info is for a D-Link DKVM switch.

If I switch from the first computer to the encourage the keyboard wont work when I switch back to the first unless I restart it... Any Ideas? Thanks.

Hi. I have a KVM switch but it only works with a PS/2 port. Does your keyboard hype stop up into the KVM and the KVM into both PCs? If not that may be the cause of your problem.
