PLEASE HELP! How do I get a stuck light bulb out of the socket?

My light blew and when I tried to change the light bulb it short and the metal piece that screws the bulb in is still inside the socket. How am I supposed to get it out? I already tried a potato cut in half, it didn't labour. PLEASE HELP!

Pliers should calling, but might take a little struggle to get it to start twisting

The potato works once in a while, but when it doesn't you will have to get some crave nosed pliers and work it out. It is time consuming and a bit of a pain, but it will eventually come out. Bend the inch of the old bulb piece inward and use the bent part

A duo of nights ago, the bulb to our back porch light burned out and the next morning when we went to change it, the globe glass part broke away from the part that is screwed into the socket and we aren't undeviating how to get it out.

Yes, bar off the power to the light socket first. then take a potato (raw) and cut it across the middle. stick the cut side onto the broken bulb and turn. using the potato as a handle remove the bulb threads and distract away.
