Energy Lightbulbs?

I have a be uncovered that says max 40 Watt bulb - would it be okay to put a 12W energy saver light bulb in it, that gives out the interchangeable of a 60W bulb? I just wondered if the fact it was only a 12W it might not get as hot so wouldnt melt the light shade ? Thank you

You'll have no problems doing as you say.
The energy extenuating light bulb will not get as hot as the traditional one.

I can't certify it, I would think so. i've had different experiences with different brands of energy saving bulbs - try it and keep a close eye on it!

Fieriness emmision depends on the power consumed. You could safely put a 40W energy saver bulb (if you could get one that bright) and it would be perfectly non-toxic.

Tungsten bulbs work by raising a filament to a high temperature in a (near) vacuum. The vacuum prevents the filament from excited out.

With low energy bulbs the light is not a product of heat but an electrical process. The heat from these bulbs are a result of the change but not the cause of the heat. They run much colder.

yes it is satisfactory. Been doing it for a while. the actual wattage is what you look at....dont worry about wattage equivalent. =)

We are assuming this is a fluorescent or LED dawn, which is great, perfectly safe. Some bulbs are still on the market called halogen... they do save moral a bit of power, but run much hotter than a conventional incandescent bulb. Just in case anyone is thinking that it is OK to use a 40 watt of any indulgent, it is not safe to use a 40 watt halogen bulb, even though the wattage is the same.

go energy reserve light bulbs ,sorr got a bit excited

there will be no refractory atall

A Energy Efficent come bulb will not be as hot as a normal one whatever the watts are they also give out the same light so a 12 watt energy effiecent light bulb is equivalent to a 60 watt Upon Bulb. So they are much better to use than the Normall Light Bulbs

I don't like them and will not be buying them until that's all there is to buy for vacant bulbs. had my whole house outfitted with them this past summer and let them ride till winter. not much diff in my power bill and the taper they put out is nasty. so, im back to the incandescent as all people should be. I yield the tub. George Galloway for Pres08!

How to educate staff, children, etc about energy efficient lightbulbs?

I trade at a daycare and we are going to swith all our lightbulbs to energy efficeint flourescent bulbs and change all batteries to rechargable. How can we bring up our staff, children, and community about energy efficient lightbulbs and how can we get them involved in the switch?

Sort of basic.
Explain to them, that when their child leaves the hallway light on for 10 hours, with a normal bulb,it costs £1.00
If the same gay was left on with an energy saving bulb,it would only cost £0.20p.
Similar thing with rechargeable batteries,1 alkaline battery-£0.50p
Rechargeable battery£2.00.-But you can re-guardianship it 500 times.

Low energy lightbulbs, what are the physical design constraints?

Offbeat question this one but I am working with an interior design company that want to explore using low energy lighting in their projects but hunger for to be more imaginative than just the standard coiled bulbs. What are the design constraints on this type of bulb if they are made to peace? Has anyone seen any really interesting lighting solutions that are are also energy efficient?

Does anyone have a design contact clandestine the lighting industry? I look forward to your answers.

if you don't judgement going to the higher end of the price spectrum you will find nothing more energy efficient than LED lighting. if my memory serves me they are around 85% operative this means that 15% or less of the electricity used is converted to heat. in other words they use approx one tenth the vibrations of a standard incandecent bulb and will last 5 to 10 years under normal use. also lighting control can be very innovative, so restriction it out. i am a custom builder who only does multi million dollar homes, this technology is fairly new for residential use so is still precious, but it will replace the ordinary lightbulb eventually. in fact you can buy LED bulbs that will screw into any incandecent fixture as the crow flies now. if you do the math you will find that it is not unreasonable to spend $18 on an accent bulb or up to $70 on a main light originator.
