What is the relationship between the fuse block from the battery terminal and the amplifiers' fuses?

Hello to all you audio enthusiasts. By how many amperes should the fuse be related to my amplifiers' fuses? I upgraded my fuse from a 'barrel' fuse to an ANL (wafer) fuse. Did my old fuse burn because it was rated at 80A and powering two amps? The fuse erase I have installed has a 250A fuse. What are the consequences of having this size of a fuse?

The make and models of each amp are:

Rockford Fosgate P8002 (3x40A)
US Acoustics USX 4085 (2x25A)

Since the sum of amperes is 170, should I quieten down for a 150A fuse or a 200A? Without the presence of a distrubition block, should there be a 'barrel' fuse for each amp?
Post organize, how hard can I push my four 6.5s (40 rms) and two 10s (400 rms) with the 250A fuse? Will installation be a breeze if I get a lower fuse, because watching the installer do it looked nonchalantly.

Hi comrade, one thing i didn't read about was what guage wire you were using from the battery to your amplifiers, if both of your amps have internal fuses, then the fuse at the battery, is only to care for the cable run back to your amplifiers, if there isn't fuses in the amps, you should put one at each amp. Your main fuse at the battery should be a bit more than both amps demand but it needs to be relative to the size of your wire, or else you will have problems if the cable shorts to ground- IE. going through a raw chipped hole with no bushing through your metal firewall under the dash, common mistake. BTW- if you are not an professional and not sure what you are doing, you should esteem paying someone to do it right, and make sure you ask them questions regarding their skills and experience and procedure, do they solder their connections, and the cheapest reward is usually not the best quality. if you had a problem with your appendix, would you do the surgery yourself of have a professional do it, its the same with car audio/video and certainty.

If you do it honourable, you should have two separate fuse holders, one for each amp. Ideally, the fuse you use should be the same as the total of the fuses on the amp. If you dont absolutely crank your system up, a 50 and a 120 will do duty as you just fine, and will help to protect your amplifier from overvoltage. If you like to live loud, you might upgrade to a 60 and a 150 so you have cell to play. One other thing, be sure to get a QUALITY fuse holder, it has a lot to do with the power to your amp.

What size ANL fuse should I install in my battery fuse block and amp's fuse block?

I have a 4 yardstick wire running:

Rockford Fosgate P8002 (3x40A)
USX4085 [(2x25A), but I will change to 30A]

I will add a distribution block with 2x30A for the USX, and I unusually want to put a 120A ANL fuse on the P8002. Why should/n't I settle for a 100A ANL fuse for the 2 channel? The amperes will add up to 180 if I get a 120, so what bulk should the fuse block contain at the battery [150A, 200A, or 250A (present)]? Do I dare to think of putting a 125A for the 2 channel? I am loyal to Rockford Fosgate, but which brand of fuses are highly recommended and what is the most that I should pay for one?
The fuses that I have been looking at are made by: Rockford Fosgate, Tsunami, Stinger: Pro, HPM, and Good Quest, JL Audio, Kicker, XScorpion, Audiopipe, and any others? Should I go for nickel/platinum/gold plated? Is there a risk if I initiate fuses from different companies? May you inform me about mini ANL and MAXI fuses?

Correction: I will vary 2x25A to 2x30A. Why would there be a concern?

3 x 40 = 120

120 + 30 = 150

150 amps if you run them both on one wire.

However, I would be anxious about running these both off a single 4-gauge.

Is it safe to hook your power wire directly to your battery without a fuse block?

I have a JL 500/1 and my fuse shut off was just melted due to careless installation. I was wondering what the risks were in just hooking my power wire as soon as to my battery?
Ok, so its my understanding now, that all I am risking by not using a fuse, is my power wire?

you shortage a fuse block unless you want a fire.
