How do you change a 80A fuse on a 2000 miata?

i am a mouse so i know nothing about working on my car. I know however that the 80A fuse is bad and i need to replace it. I know its under the hood and in the little fuse box. but how do i actually put back it??? is it bolted in? do i need to unhook the battery? How do i go about fixing my problem?

Before you go any further WHY did an 80A fuse embroider?

If it was something you did such as jump starting the car the wrong way then there's a good chance you may have some other components that are damaged. Get it looked at professionally so it doesn't start a fire or hop it you stranded somewhere.

If you don't know why it blew, then don't touch it as it would just blow again to protect your car.

Otherwise, the 80A fuse is a large one, it is screwed in, and yes the battery should be apart when it is replaced AFTER the cause of the blow has been solved.

You have no guy friends to employees ya?? You need to look at the back of the lid to the fuse box. Trace down what fuse it is. It'll say 80A if it's an 80A fuse. Anyways look and see if it's got screws holding it in. If it's 80Amps it may possibly be a bigger fuse. If not then take some needle nose pliers and campaign for it out and replace it. No need to disconnect battery.

you gotta find out what the fuse blew, it presumably touching metal somewhere, the 80A fuse are the special type of fuse, they aint cheap and can only get at specific locations, if you dont find out why the fuse has fry, it gonna keep on circumstance again and again, gotta find the source that trigger

they aint normal ATC Fuse

This fuse is under the hood and it is not a young blade fuse.

that order of fuse link is usually bolted in to the fuse box. you might have to pull the box up and remove a cover under it to get to the bolts(usually 8 or 10 mm. heads)that enfold the fuse link in the fuse box

I was very recently wondering if NE1 would know about how much power I am REALLY gettin outta ma 4000 (four THOUSAND) watt amp if it has a 80 A fuse. I identify it has to be around a 1000 or so, probably not even that, but, just seein if I could get a dependable close enough answer.. Thnx, dRU.....

look into the manual if you have one that will say, if not
google the manufacture and look up the specs.

My 800watt amp gives me these options for my setup^^^
