Fiat brava 40a ignition fuse blows every time I PRESS BRAKE!?

Justified replaced pads, discs ,rear pistons ,shoes , on my car !!!!
during the bleeding process ( battery still connected) ther was a midget circuit of some kind! replaced 40a ignition fuse under bonnett and 1 relay under steering column .
but now at a standstill if i hold close brake pedal the 40a fuse blows every time !!!!could be the bleeding ! any ideas

I of that whilst bleeding the brakes
you have disturbed the brake light switch
located near the pedal
only a no more short will cause this problem
i suggest you have a look near the switch
to see if it shorting out

the problem can only be between the escape side of the switch and the brake lights themselves

good luck

I have misgivings about it's the bleeding, however, you prob have a bad earth somewhere which is causing the fuse to blow. Check your main earth pull especially from/to your battery.

Complain like a dead short to me too. Somewhere the hot wire is coming into contact with the ground (earth). Could be that the first short welded a team a few of wires together. 40a is quite a lot of power. I'm not familiar with this particular car but if it has electrical connection for ABS or like sensor that is the first place I would look. Perhaps a wire pinched between metal parts.

You have a pass short from the brake switch.

can i put a 40A fuse ?

my car alien starter had a 30A fuse. but i only have 40A fuses. can i use that ? thanks

You can, but you could potentially impairment something that the fuse was meant to blow.

Typically you can use a lower Amp fuse and not damage what the fuse was designed to protect. (Though the fuse may burn out, what it was intended to watch over will be safe)

why does my fuse keep blowing when i hook it up to the battery?

its a power chain... i think its 10 or 12 gauge, to a small amp. i just got a bigger rockford 401s 1200w and i wanted to try it out. when i hooked everything up aptly i went to go put the negative battery terminal back on my fuse in the power cord keeps blowing out. i had the the setting to the lowest Hz and the "80a" fuse blew and the "40a" fuse penniless. any idea why its doing that?

sounds like a send short, to blow a 40 or 80 amp fuse either the amp is wired wrong or there is bare wire touching metal..

try dis connecting the power wire from the amp put in a put out to not touch metal a shirt or towell is fine, then with a fresh fuse reinstall the negative clamp if u pop another fuse it is a inadequate in between point a to point b.

professor mr sir brought up the gauge of wire, u should be using 8 gauge, two wires for both amps or a unmarried wire running back to a fuse block with 4 gauge then fuses then two 8 gauge cables.

we do not want any fires now, there is a incidental on damaged amps.
