Using way too much gas - DoItYourself.com Community Forums

New to this forum, but can't maintain how much benevolent info is being exchanged for the DIY set. anyway here's my problem. We recently swaped a 20 year old coleman nat gas furnace for a newer (Less than 5 years) coleman evcon modelDGAT090BDF section. Swap was very submissive since they were comparable in volume and mounting positions. Won't go into a ton of details but everything went fair, the element which hadn't been familiar before (according to the guy it was bought from) started proper up and inspirit was flowing. We are in Southern Oregon and winters are sufficiently forgiving, this constituent was event less than I expected and seemed to be cycling nicely, couldn't have been happier. until the first gas bill came. the old constituent had some flawed electronics and our tech said it was cheaper to renew than mend and we incontestable to go to a pellet stove, so we stop using this old element alltogether. then pellets went through the roof and we bought this replacement part, our biggest bill with the old setup was $125. The first bill...

Replacing gas valves on furnaces and water heaters

Raise from Stromquist.com and Controltrends.com shows you how to find the right part number when replacing a gas valve on your furnace or hot water ...

I recently had a high efficiency furnace installed, what is the reason it needs a fresh air intake?

The furnace sometimes has a difficulty firing and the installer(not hvac) thinks it is not getting enough air to fire. It eventually does fire. He removed a plug on the side of furace (about the expanse of a hockey puck) to allow more air in. It seems

The new high-class effiency furnaces need to draw their combustion air from outside the house. it's all about the negative pressure like mentioned above. And also as a cover to keep the combustion sealed from the ambient air in the house.
And like

in directive for a furnace to cut in it needs cold air or fresh air to tell it that the temperature has dropped .

How do I adjust the temeperature on my hot water heater?

Specifically, it is too low and I shortage to adjust the temperature up. It is a SuperFlue gas unit. There is a temperature adjustment gage on the gas modulator, but it is at MAX. There is also a WaterGard valve at the top of the tank where the effort

If you have the temperature aright max'd out, that's as hot as it's going to get. That is assuming it's working properly. If you are not sure of that, call a plumber to check it out.

An analog value tells how unbar a valve is, tells how hot a furnace tube is, or tells how much current is flowing through an electrical conductor.
