The hot water furnace that heats my bawdy-house water temperature is set at 180 degress if I lower that to 160 are 140 will I save money??

I went to upon on the furnace tonight cause it's cold as heck, within 5 minutes I heard what i thought was just the hot water coming down the pipes, was this Leviathan noise from the boiler furnace it was rattling and smelled of burnt something, kinda like gas but not. I turn the power off to the quirk and it stopped. should I have done something before I turnd it on. it has not run since the end of may.....

at the end of the day sounds normal to me. When first starting up its common to smell dust burning off of unit and the pipes making alot of creaking noises. If after a unimportant while all calms down then your okay! If not then I would not fool around with gas, call the service tech!!
