Modular Blowers (Electric Furnaces)

Electric furnaces?

How well do electric furnaces labour? I need small unit for an upstairs and do not want to run gas lines up in the attic and heat pumps are too precious. Are the electric furnaces very efficient?

An electric furnace uses vehemence strips like the back-up heat for a heat pump so it can get very expensive to use. If you have many heating hours where you live I would indicate getting a heat pump. The difference in cost will make up for itself over time. Don't get me wrong electric furnaces exertion just fine, but you will save a lot more money over time with a heat pump and get the benefit of air conditioning. Another alternative (depending if the downstairs unit is large enough to handle it) is zoning. This means you use the same system upstairs and down with a thermostat on each flush. They install automatic dampers to open and close as needed. This will make the temperatures more even on each level and preserve you money too! Get a local hvac consultant to help you decide which is best for you. The estimate should be free and friendly. Hope this helps.

yes they are and with the present-day state of gas pricing its probably the most cost effective way to heat the space you want heated.

you can have in vanguard duct heaters installed in your existing ducts that are electric and work off a thermostat for the upstairs only, usually each acreage will have there separate zone so if not in use turn it down, most cost efficient way to solve.

Your theme is are electric furnaces very efficient. The only answer is Yes, and nobody with any knowlege of this can argue that. Electric is 100% effective as there are no byproducts of combustion as there are with gas fired furnaces.

100% effiecient is a very yard goods number!

Generally the air they supply is not as warm as a gas fired furnace, but it will heat just fine.

the operating costs for an electric furnace are a sparse more that the costs for a heat pump.

electric furnaces are cheaper to buy though.

BUT, what about a/c?
find out what a ac unit and an electric furnace cost and compare this cost with a intensify pump. i bet theres not a whole lot of difference.

hope this helps,
Possum

Does gas come out of electric furnaces with newer pilots if the furnace isn't kicking on?

Our furnace is accepted nuts, like it turns on on short bursts and then it turns off and then wont kick back on unless you seclude if off completely and turn it back on. It's got the flame sensors and the newer pilot that comes on right before the burners belabour, and it's lit now, but I dont know if it's safe to go to sleep because I dont know if gas will still come out if it wont light? Hands?

Yes the gas will criticize out for a short time while the trial for ignition takes place.
The gas would be safely exhausted outdoors if ignition does not take give so it shouldn't be a problem.
There is something going on during the heat cycle. It should stay on until the thermostat is satisfied.
Could be a dirty glow sensor. It may have some oxide buildup on it that can be cleaned off with steel wool or a brush.
It could also be shutting down on the pressure birch rod which is there to prove that the combustion motor is operating and there is no restriction in the heat exchanger. If this is a 90% furnace it will have a condensate trickle that if plugged or restricted can hold water in the system causing erratic pressure switch operation.
You may lack a tech to diagnose and correct.
