Carrier Gas furnace

*PLEASE Peruse DESCRIPTION* This is a 60000 BTU Carrier gas Furnace at my friend's house. It and the Carrier 2 Ton condenser are from 2001. It ...

Help please. Why Carrier gas furnace 9200 does not ignite after inducer starts?

My Carrier gas furnace 9200 shuts down after 20-30 seconds after its inducer starts, ie, the burners do not lite. But if I take off the burner engulf (about 4"x10" with a glass whole, inside the main cover), the burners lite and the furnace seems to toil fine. Any idea why? Thank you very much.

If you are useful with an VOM meter and electronics, you can fix it your self. Everything is clearly marked lead by lead and connection by connection. This is a straightforward circuit not a TV set, so its not rocket science one bit. If not qualified call a tech.

On the backside of the blower door is a schematic of the thorough circuit. There are about 7 safety switches that need to be checked for "Open" or "closed" as shown on the design. Check those out entirely.

You cannot check a flame sensor with a meter, unless you have a special HVAC cut to do that with, and even then, you cannot be real sure.

On your Carrier furnace, your flame sensor is on the far left at burner level, so ignition should indeed take arrive if that is even defective and then an immediate shut down, Its about a 2 second delay in there. So that problem with this sensor is charming much ruled out based on what you are saying in your statement that there is no gas flow. .

So left also is High Limit, That isnt it, because the Carrier will run the blower in Fault constantly if the high limit safety is tripped.

The most problematic and sounds like in your case, it is the weight switch located near the exhauster blower. Its a bellows type of switch on there and sometimes those gore a bit. Take an ohm meter on the VOM and see if that is it. Read the schematic. If it is, take and manual trip it a couple times to free it. If that doesnt line Replace it.

The entire replacement of all safety switches is about $100 on a Carrier. The main control is about $85.

One can buy parts on letter overnight shipment, www.furnaceparts. com.

On there is a complete list of your Carrier model's parts so no need to go hunting around for the part #.

sounds like the boyfriend sensor is not working. Look for a single red wire going to a do-hicky that is sticking in the burn senate near the burner. Shut off power. Disconnect wire from it, restore power and if it does same feature then the flame sensor is shot and you need to replace it.

That is an reading that there may be something blocking the air inlet pipe to the furnace. You can check to see if anything is inside the pvc pipe that supplies air to the furnace. For more info, explore out the furnace page at my source.

check into your pvc vent pipes. The air intake probably has something in it. Look outside for bee nest, snow etc. The intake is the one that hooks in a beeline to the burner cover that you described

Where to find Carrier gas furnace manual Model # VR800A1020?

a website to a pdf would be sufficient! Sure would save on a service call just to light the pilot light correctly without blowing anything or anyone up.

This is an off-the-wall number for a Carrier furnace. The thing is Honeywell makes a gas valve with that number. Are you sure you're getting the slew directly off the furnace?

The model number for the furnace would be on a sticker off to the side or down underneath the gas valve.

What is the price difference between the Carrier 58cva and 58cta gas furnaces?

Around $400.00 more for the CVA, it has beat controls and fan motor.
