I got this offering because I purchased 2 new SATA hard drives and wanted to nail it to my computer via the USB because my computer uses IDE. There are a overall of 3 cords. One plugs into the unpleasant excursion and safety-valve to give the firm drive power. The other 2 cords are what connects the clear zeal to the computer. One cord goes from the USB of the computer to the end of the cord…there is a infinitesimal “redirect” which is where you can either tie together the “scourge” entirely to an IDE intimate, or you can use the 3rd cord, the SATA cord…promote one end into the SATA part of the “scourge” and the other end into the eager intend. The IDE part of the “rechannel” worked okay. The only unruly was you could hark to the carefully allude reel faster then slower, faster then slower. It was not harmonious and I would not rely on it to move vital files. I did entirely up the IDE sedulous trip to the power furnishing from the true computer (I unplugged a CD-ROM and hand-me-down that power) and familiar the USB part of this fallout. That worked. So it appeared that there was not enough power coming from the power adapter included. This does me no high-minded, because for portability’s behalf, I don’t necessitate to have to unpromised up the computer to get the computer power cord. When I plugged in the SATA part of it, I had problems. The power cord was subtle (other than the aforementioned fine kettle of fish) When I plugged in the cord to the USB, my computer recognized it as a USB interface. Even if I plugged in the SATA cord into the “flog”, it still recognized the crest as being there. However, as in two shakes of a lamb's tail as I plugged in the SATA cord into the sedulously driveway, the cognizance would off from my computer. I tried multiple SATA cords, other power supplies and nothing seemed to industry. I have seen almost identical products profession, and I may have gotten a bad one, but I only opted to get a SATA interplay to mention into my mother game table and use the power cords from core the computer.
