Does anyone know a good knot for elastic bracelet cord?

I've been making sanctuary pin bracelets lately and they are extremely fun, when the knot holds. I've tried overhand knots and square knots, but they lawful don't seem to work. I use a 1mm elastic cord. Anyone have any tips?
