Is Suan Lum still open? How can I bring back large hanging chandelier-type hanging lamp shades on the plane?

I've upright been to Bangkok a year ago and people are telling me that Suan Lum is closing. How abt now? are they still open?

I really like the charitable hanging lamp shades that they are selling over there. How can I bring those large items on the plane with me? I'm taking Tiger Airways and is wondering whether there are any collateral charges or whether is it even possible?

I've been to Bangkok many times already and have shopped in places like JJ market, siam beau id, MBK, chinatown, khao san etc.. any other interesting shopping/ eating places that I have yet to go/ any interesting place to recommend? i demand to find some new 'excuses' to convince myself to go there again.

Any answers to my questions appreciated :-)

I have been to Hobby Lobby, Joanne's, and everyone is out of stock. Any other ideas? I dearth 5 of them. Thanks!
I have tried Walmart and Target .com and neither place has them on their website.
But maybe they do have them in the stores.

I'm looking for a reasonably alternative other than buying a new fixture. The chandelier is a typical gold dining room chandelier. Any suggestion on how I would go about painting it clouded?

Also where can you purchase those little lamp shades to put on the bulbs?
