I want to change the finish on my brass chandelier to bronze. Any suggestions?

The Effrontery Shop is the name of the company i used to do a lot of business with getting customers locks refinished. Ask for Frank Jr. They are located in Westfield NJ on Primary Ave . Hope this helps, They do beautiful work and you can ship your stuff to them. Sorry i don't have the # on me at the moment but it shouldn't be petrified finding them with the info above. You'll be happy with the finished product, I promise you!

You can't trade the finish - you can paint it, but that's about it. Normally I strongly advise against spray painting house fixtures - you can't duplicate beaming metal finishes, and they usually look like crap pretty soon afterwards. But bronze isn't too coruscating, and I've had good luck with Rustoleum bronze metal paint. I painted the radiators in my home a few years ago, they look like the actual 1930's finish. Just make sure you clean the crap out of the chandelier before painting, or the new paint won't bore.

find a circumstances that does bronze work,,, i.e. you can have baby shoes bronzed right?? well there are shops that can bronze other things as well,, won't be skinflinty though

Is there a product that I can apply to a "brass" finished chandelier that will make it look like bronze?

I'm established there is. Go to your local Home Improvement store...I saw someone use a silver buff cream on a DIY show not too long ago (refinishing a assault fixture), so I'm sure theres a bronze shade, too. Good Luck!

I am looking to buy a nice chandelier for my dining room and am curious what metal color is the best choice?

The crystal chandeliers succeed in accents of gold plate, bronze, black iron, silver plate, and a creme painted metal. Which one will stop the test of time, trend wise?

It at the end of the day depends on your decor and the manufacturer. A gold plated chandelier will not go in every type of decor. Any of those metals that you mentioned will last the try out of time if the quality of the chandelier is good.

You should check this website out below. You can shop for the chandelier you want by the finish that matches your dining range. After that you can go in and take a look at customer reviews, product quality rankings, and information on the manufacturer itself. This will help to give you an position of what you are getting yourself into.

Be prepared to spend decent money on a quality chandelier, especially if you want it to last awhile. The tickety-boo thing about chandeliers, is that they add a beautiful dramatic accent to a home!!
