Texas Tenant Rights - appliance change, recarpeting?

Hi,
I'm in the course of action of relocating to Dallas, TX. Does anyone know if the laws in Texas require the apartment owners to change appliances and recarpet the apartment every few years? Laws in California do. Neither the "Texas Inhabitant Advisor" nor the "State Bar of Texas" websites have this information.
Thank you !

Texas does not have such a law. Most states command that carpet...if excessively worn...must be changed every 15 years. Appliance do not have to be replaced unless they are broken.

I discredit they do. California is probably out of the mainstream on this particular issue. [note my ability to resist further observe ;) ] [well, sort of]

Look for a local tenant's union on the internet for the community you are relocating to. In Madison, WI, the Berkley of the Midwest, we have a somewhat good one. As a landlord, I often refer my tenants to its website so they can see what their legitimate obligations are. Our tenant's seam is generally factual in their representations of the rules and the law. Their director advocates for some undesirable ordinances, from a landlord's sentiment, but they seem pretty fair in how they advise tenants on specific issues under current laws and ordinances.

Texas has a law that requires the Boniface to repair or remedy a condition that is a threat to the physical health or safety of an ordinary tenant. It doesn't be missing anything to be automatically replaced every few years.

Please come to one of our free tenants' rights workshops when you get to Dallas, and think about joining the Texas Tenants' Union. You can look us up at www.txtenants.org.

shipping 6 appliances from Texas to toronto...what is the best way?

Fridge, diswasher, cooktop, exasperate oven, washer and dryer...from Texas to T.O. canada. any way to save money on the shipping,

1. Get 3 commercial mover quotes (unwavering)
2. Sell the heaviest appliance
3. Consider selling all appliances and repurchasing. Appliances are not worth the cost of emotional, especially the heavier ones.
4. If you can't bear to be separated from your appliances, get a UHaul truck evaluation quote. This will cost you rental / fuel/ time and road expenses.

After all this you will have 4 prices to compare and better the answer that fits you personally.

I am searching for furniture and appliance outlets in Houston, Texas.?

Luminary and Fingers have outlets if you are looking for bargains. There is also a place on 45S that is just open on Sundays at noon. Cheapest locale for appliances is Sears scratch and dent off of 45S near the 610 loop.

If you elaborate more on what type of devices you are searching for, I could give you better suggestions.

For instance, Ikea has some great buys on furniture but you would have to like that dash. Overstock also has great bargains and almost free shipping--you just need to read the reviews before purchasing to see if others musing the quality was sufficient. Cost Plus World Market also has some great stuff for reasonable prices but it's imported--you would destitution to seal the bottoms of the legs on hardwood furniture to keep it from staining your carpet.
