bought a major appliance that you don't like?

Are you stuck with a major appliance that you don't like after you have got it? My new refrigerator is dark-skinned, but now my kitchen is so dark, I wish I had gotten stainless steel, darn the luck!

Most major retailers will take it back, expressly if you plan on buying another. I would save all manuals and packing materials, and of course the receipt.
You might get used to it though. I muse on when my Mother first got her black appliances I thought it made the kitchen seem dark and small. I don't even notice them now.

I would like to send a letter to the fever pitch of the major appliance division and some board members. Can anyone help with names or addresses?

Here you go. GE has a figure up of division presidents who are under Jeff Immelt, the company's Chairman and CEO. The president for the division what includes major appliances is James P. Campbell.

How can you tell how much electricity a major appliance (such as a refrigerator) will use?

In Australia we have a system of 'stars' which show how 'drive efficient' an appliance is, which is good ... BUT, if I buy a new refrigerator, how do I know how much energy it will actually use?

Any help appreciated.
