Herbst Appliance

Yesterday Bayli got the Herbst Appliance put on. I concern they were successful to unseat the braces and put it on, but I was take advantage of. They cut some of the wires out and then along the bottom braces they twisted wire all through it and then put in the herbst. It approachable of looks like a big hinge. It makes her jaws wheeze out and she woke up this morning and could hardly talk because it was so dangerous. I had to assistant her nail-brush her teeth last tenebrosity. It is so unvarnished to try to get around that fixation in there. They said she can't drowse on her side, that she will have to nap on her back. They said if she sleeps on her side in can imbed in her jaw and devise horrific sores and cuts. That is booming to be bare because she sleeps all over the responsibility. I surface for her. She can't meditate on anything right now and is eating soup. I couldn't get her to eat anything for breakfast, not even oatmeal. She has to adopt it for a year and then go on on with braces after that for another year. It feels like she will be in...

I can't see how my expression is going to look like when I get my herbst appliance off. Does it change your face apperance a lot?

Ooooh, I thoroughly sympathize with you! I hated mine! It doesn't really change your facial features. I think my cut jaw is like a millimeter more forward. I don't know if it is even visible. I know my sister had a pallette spreader and that is patent. Now that I have my herbst off my jaw pops though.

How long does it take for them to put the herbst appliance on?

Also, if you have any message about the herbst appliance, like how badly it hurts, the pros and cons of it and so on, would be greatly appreciated. (I would prefer answers from people who have or have had special experience).

i got mine in december it took about 30 min it didnt ache when i got it it will feel weird because only your front eeth will touch for a week or so it really isnt that bad hard to chew though grounds your teeth wont touch

Can you still play flute with a Herbst appliance in your mouth?

My 12-year old daughter is most apposite getting a Herbst appliance, but is a flute player. I'm concerned that the appliance will interfere.

I haven't got a herbst appliance but i've got braces and i find it much easier to about b dally flute with it! Apparentely things like that effect reed instruments more.
