Does anyone in the Chicago know the fine print about the Grants Appliances gas/grocery special?

Grants is event a special now where they say with any purchase of $399 or over you get $500 in coupons for gas or grocery at the location of your choice. Is this a scam? What is the lovely print? It can't be as easy as it sounds.

Yes it is an unconstrained scam. We bought a dishwasher and tried to use the voucher. Here is how it worked:

After you register the voucher on a web site, you have to invest $100 at the store/gas station you designated. Then you send that receipt, along with your voucher, and they send you your first gift be honest for $25. They only send you one per month, and only send you $25 at a time.

Here's the real catch, in indecorous to register your voucher, you have to complete 5 pages of person questions that have nothing to do with groceries or gas- such as "Are you interested in soul insurance?"

It is a big marketing scam to get your detailed personal information.

The day after we bought our dishwasher, I went back to Grants and told the straw boss that it was a scam and he acted surprised. He did give me $50 off my purchase, but I still have a bad taste in my mouth that they would offer this hoax as a sales commendation.

Trying To Find Out About Government Grants For OAPs In North Wales?

I am exasperating to find out if there are any government grants available for over 60s for heating appliances such as boilers.

My grandfather is in need of a new boiler and is 89, does anyone be versed where I can go to find out about such a grant?

What funding/grants are available for energy efficient businesses?

I would like to start a privately owned "Unripened" business that utilizes energy efficient appliances and solar panel energy. I am also a miss teaming up with an individual of minority decent. I know there are funding possibilities for such things, but I don't recognize where to start. Please advise!

The grants presupposed for businesses are for those who seek to research and discover renewable energy sources -- not for simply using environmentally unreserved appliances and solar panel energy

It is hard to find grants to start a business. Unlike the myths that some memorialize, federal government and even private foundations hardly give grant money for starting a for-profit concern.

One possible exception is for companies developing or exporting agricultural goods, including food and forest offshoot. Another exception could be the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Carry (STTR) programs http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/sbir/index.html , which fund the delve into and development of technological innovation that meets specific government needs.

Your best bet actually will be from the states if they proposal grant programs for women (or any other special interest groups -- minorities, women, disabled, veterans, etc). Or hindrance with non profit organizations, particularly women organizations if they offer grants. Examples include

Nonetheless, you can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal domination to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture.

Here is a listing of federal grants for matter-of-fact businesses. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business -- THERE'S NONE.
