What is a home sellers liability for recalled appliances?

I due purchased a house and discovered that all of the electric (Cadet Co) wall heaters were recalled and cannot be used. We discovered the weakness four days after close of escrow. What is the seller's liability to fix/replace the defective heaters? The industrialist is no longer honoring the recall, the home inspector missed the fact that they were recalled and the home warranty troop does not cover recalled items. We have asked the seller nicely and they basically told us that it is our hard now and not to bother them. Does anyone know of any legal precedence here? Is the seller on the hook or is it just too bad that we did not catch this before thorough of escrow?

The home warranty has specific exclusions for recalled items.

The sellers are done, they are not knotty anymore.

The home warranty that you purchased should cover this.

What's the best way to complain about an appliance?

I have a Kenmore dishwasher, maquette 665.16033400. I bought it in November 2004. The motor was replaced due to recall in April 2005. The motor has died and must be replaced again as of May 2008. That works out to 3 years assistance from a motor that is supposed to last at least 15 years. Sears customer service doesn't hunger to hear about it, except to charge me for the repair. Where is the most public place to post my complaint for maximum exposure?

in regards to your place you can contact kenmore to see what your options are, all kenmore dishwashers come with a manufacture warrenty you need to look at your warrenty to see if your superior to maybe get a replacement, also if you bought a protection plan and your still within your warrenty then you will be able to get the motor replaced. unfortunately theres not much to do in complaining if your out of all your warrenties. penitential

a recall from maytag?

i heard on today show of a maytag appliance was recalled ? i necessitate to know what the appliance was and the serial # was ....................thank you

It is on Maytag dishwashers. Possability of fire. Reach Whirlpool. They now own Maytag.They can tell you which models were effected. It will be a free repair since it was a factory recall. You can also contact Sears.
