No, many people use it as a litter can and put a lot of food scraps down the drain. There are areas in the US where this is suspected to be the cause of water ecosystems being damaged. All unstintingly that goes down the drain, if it isn't a septic system, is treated and released back into rivers or other natural water systems. The added natural material from food scraps is creating an unbalance of nutrients in some water ways and can kill inundate life.
The other thing that makes it non eco friendly, is it uses electricity, and the task can be accomplished with minimal human power, rightful scrape your scraps into the garbage.
It has a leeway in the middle where the electric and plumbing come up...is it possible to unhook the dishwasher, sink, disposal androtate the token and rehook up the appliances?
Don't see why you couldn't as sustained as the bar covers the floor where the drain and water feed comes in. You will probably also have to fix the floor covering.
Hi,
I am living in vancouver and renting an apartment.
I due broke my garbage disposal and somebody told me it would cost me about $800 to replace it.
should i pay for that?
I heard that if any of the appliances is commission, the landlord should be responsible for the repair cost.
which one is true??
oh, just let you know, my apartment is four years old, so there's no warrenty at all.
This normally would be the landlords impost to repair. Although if it was broken from miss use, such as having a spoon in the disposal while operating the disposal then it could be your responsibility. On average a disposal runs between $79 to $139.00 extra the cost of labor. I wouldn't be to concerned about it. If it quit running all together then it probably tripped the overload whip. There is a reset button on the bottom of the disposal that you can try pushing. also the disposal should've came with a big allen wrench, There's a slot under the disposal that the wrench fits in and it will raise the motor and blade to free it up if there's something jammed between the blade.
